Caroline is the CEO and co-founder of Nu Market, a social enterprise that expands women artisans’ market access by creating handbags that feature traditional handicrafts and funding women’s education. While on a Fulbright grant in China, her research on how Yi and Miao ethnic minority women artisans contributed to regional economic development and promoted gender equality inspired her to launch Nu Market. Caroline is also an award-winning photojournalist whose work has been featured internationally. She holds a Master’s in International Relations from the London School of Economics and a Bachelor’s in Chinese and Political Science from Washington University in St. Louis. She speaks advanced Chinese and conversational French and German.
