We Value Your Safety
We’re committed to providing you with the best possible experience. As such, health and safety are our top priority for the live event. We have a dedicated safety taskforce that will be working to ensure compliance with CDC guidelines, state and local regulations, and the Fairmont Hotel.
What safety protocols will I be expected to follow?
At the event, we will have free onsite testing. All speakers and attendees are required to show proof of a negative test taken at a testing site no more than 24 hours prior to the start of our event or take a Covid-19 test when they arrive.
The Fairmont Hotel requires all event attendees to provide proof of full vaccination, inclusive of a booster shot (if eligible), before being allowed entry. Accepted forms of vaccination record include:
• The original, a copy, or a picture of your CDC vaccination card
• Documentation of full vaccination from a healthcare provider
• Personal digital Covid-19 vaccine record issued by the State of California or by an approved private company
What does fully vaccinated mean?
Fully vaccinated means you have received your initial vaccine series plus booster, if eligible, prior to RampUp. The following scenarios are acceptable:
Do I need to be boosted if I got COVID-19 and have since recovered?
If you tested positive for COVID-19 prior to receiving a booster shot, the expectation is that you will still receive a booster shot once you are recovered and have fulfilled isolation requirements. There is substantial immunologic and increasing epidemiologic evidence that vaccination following infection further increases protection against subsequent illness.
Will onsite testing be available?
Yes, we will have free onsite testing available for attendees and speakers beginning Sunday, February 27th and running through Tuesday, March 1st.
Can I take an at-home Covid-19 test?
The only at-home test results we will accept are ones that provide results that can be verified electronically such as through an email or app. You cannot, for example, take a picture of an at-home test and bring it to the Fairmont as proof as we cannot verify that the test belongs to you and was taken less than 24 hours prior to your arrival at the Fairmont.
Can I bypass testing on site if I bring a picture of a negative at-home Covid-19 test taken within the last 24 hours?
No, a picture will not suffice as proof in this instance. The only at-home test results we will accept are ones that provide results that can be verified electronically such as through an email or app.
I do not want to test on site—what are my options?
You can go to a testing site up to 24 hours before arrival at the Fairmont and bring proof of a negative test.
What happens if I test positive for Covid-19 at RampUp?
If you test positive, you unfortunately will not be able to physically attend or speak at RampUp in order to keep everyone safe. You will be asked to join us online through our event platform.
If I bring a negative test, do I need to be vaccinated to attend RampUp in person?
In keeping with San Francisco city orders, the Fairmont Hotel requires all event attendees to provide proof of full vaccination before being allowed entry. Accepted forms of vaccination record include:
Will parts of the event take place outside?
Yes, the Rooftop Garden is available for networking and meals throughout the event. A portion of the space is tented with heat lamps and tables.
Can windows be opened in rooms that have them?
If weather permits, windows can be kept open.
Do I need to wear a mask?
At this time, wearing a mask at RampUp is optional.
What can I expect from the venue?
In addition to following the safety protocols above, hotel staff will be cleaning and disinfecting surfaces throughout the venue frequently, with a deep clean overnight.
The hotel is also operating on a limited capacity. We are limiting in-person tickets to RampUp to 1,500—half of what our event has been in the past. The filters used in its HVAC system comply with recommended MERV ratings for the units that supply air throughout the building.
Additionally, the Fairmont Hotel is #allsafe certified. This means that they follow some of the most stringent cleaning standards & operational procedures in the hospitality industry. For more information on the certification, visit Accor’s website here.
How can I sanitize on site?
There are bathrooms on both floors for you to wash your hands. We will also provide sanitizer stations throughout the event.
How can we help keep each other safe?
We encourage all attendees to use alternative ways to greet business partners. Try a fist bump, nodding and waving, or bumping elbows. Get creative!
We also encourage using digital alternatives to printed materials, such as business cards and sales brochures.
